The Coen brothers (Joel and Ethan) have little to say with their new comedy, "Burn After Reading." An A-list cast struggles to bring a comic thriller to life, as the Coens unveil their first movie since last year's triumphant "No Country For Old Men." I agree 100% -- many funny moments, but all as devoid of substance as the brainless and heartless characters. It was easy to feel superior and laugh at these characters in the beginning, but after a while, I missed having someone on the screen to relate to and root for, anyone with heart and intelligence. Was this just a lazy, incomplete effort by the Coens, or their view of everyone in the U.S., including their audience?
